Not advised: Xanax will still be active in your system after 6\hours and a significant interaction can occur with alcohol ingestion. Only half the dose leaves your body by 11 hours or so. You would have to refrain from going out for the rest of the day and evening if you drank alcohol on the same day as you took xanax. An elderly person would even be in danger at home with that combination
