Long story short, i received a puncture wound on my hand from a frayed braided metal wire that is used in a public door mechanism. this will have happened to anyone trying to fix it before me. should i be worried about any blood transmittable disease?

Blood transmitted: Diseases would not be likely in above circumstances. A visit with your doc would still be advisable, making sure you are up to date on your tetanus and the wound is healing well, as a wound infection is always possible.
