HIV, Hepatitis B or C cannot be transmitted through above mentioned mechanism from inanimate surfaces. Hand hygiene rules still apply as to risk for transmission for other bacteria including hepatitis A.

Although it may be possible to get some viral illnesses through skin contact to a door knob, such as hepatitis a or influenza, there is no risk of getting HIV, hepatitis B, or hepatitis C in this manner. Good luck.
