Kidney disease - BP: The two principal mechanisms are salt retention by impaired kidneys and secretion of renin from injured / compromised macula densa islands. Renin activates angiotensin which is a potent vessel constrictor and salt retainer; so kidney disease generates hi BP and kidneys are harmed further by hi BP - - - thus kidneys are "victim" to HIBP and kidneys "are villains" _ generating hiBP .......
