A member asked:

What should i watch out for/care for during the healing process of a 95yo female who had a broken clavicle and isn't eligible for surgery?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Prevention: A simple Fractured clavicle is usually treated only with a sling. Pain management is important. Use ice applications for swelling. Encourage safe movements of hand, fingers and arm as tolerated and deep breaths to keep lungs expanded. Sleep more upright. Remove objects from floor to avoid tripping. No walking without assistance. I strongly recommend home physical therapy.
