A member asked:

My son of 12 years old was at the docter yesterday. there are 3 abscesses under his arm (armpit) and a swollen gland. the docter drained the 1 abscess. must i be worried about the gland?

Not particularly: The various lymph glands scattered around the body work to help remove germs/debris from the body serum. It is normal for them to enlarge when they are working. A nearby abscess or several will do this. The swelling should fade weeks after the infection resolves.
