Abscess treatment: Return to the doctor or clinic where the abscess was drained. It might require additional drainage and/or an antibiotic (or different antbiotic if you're already taking one). Good luck.

Doctor can recheck: If one has a skin abscess, and it is opened up and drained, it should heal from the bottom up. That means a hole while healing is a good thing, because junk can drain out. If it seals itself, or if the hole is too small, junk will build-up inside (that's bad). Sounds like that may be the situation here. One should recheck with the doctor to see if re-draining is needed.
