Persistent cough for 4 wks. lump moving in chest, painful swallowing, shoulder pain, & rib cage pain. told doc today. doc not concerned cause x-ray last month was clear. what if this cough goes another month? scared lung cancer. smoked for a year.

Chest doctor: A cough lasting longer than 2 weeks needs to be evaluated. The risk of lung cancer or TB is low is the chest x-ray was clear a month ago. However, it you are not satisfied with your doctor, you should consider consulting a Pulmonologist/chest doctor. Wish you good health!
