Hard to say: Flu itself can produce x-ray changes that are labeled pneumonia & once present the findings can remain for weeks. This could have been present all along from the primary dx of flu. If it was a secondary bacterial pneumonia most of these are not easy to spread 7 are triggered by germs already in the airways. I doubt if he is contagious at this point.
