A member asked:

If i saw a retina picture of the back of my eye by an optometrist and it did not show any black dots or lines that squiggle then why do i see floaters in my eyes?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Floaters anterior: The picture is focused on the back of your eye. Floaters which are further forward, away from the retina will not show up in the picture. The doctor can see them using a special lens however.
