Floater: See an eye MD (ophthalmologist) for your new onset floater. If you do choose to see an optometrist instead of an eye MD, please be aware that the optometrist is an "eye doctor" that has never been to medical school. Optometrists do get basic training in diagnosing health conditions of the eye, but for the same cost why wouldn't you see the specialist eye MD (ophthalmologist)?
