I cut my index finger the other day. now my thumb and my palm was severe pain. went to the er and the only thing they did was glue the finger. but the glue came off the same day. the cut is still open and im in pain ?

May be infected: People usually don't get "severe pain" a couple of days after a mildly cut finger. If a cut or its surrounding skin gets very tender, reddened, or swollen, it may be infected and may need a doctor's exam. Infected cuts need treatment with prescription antibiotics. Untreated infections spread to the entire hand and are bad.
