Oral rinse: The best home remedy oral gargle is salt water prepared by mixing one teaspoon fine grain kosher salt with one cup warm water. Otherwise, listerine or the commonly doctor prescribed Peridex (chlorhexidine gluconate) solution are recommended commercial products.

Water: Tap water is just find for an oral rinse after a tooth extraction. If you find that uncomfortable, add a teaspoon of salt to a glass of water and use that for rinsing.
