A member asked:

I want to get pregnant again. i am taking a prenatal vitamin now but it does not have a high enough percentage of all the b vitamins i need nor the calcium and magnesium i need. can i supplement with a b complex, magnesium, and calcium?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

FOOD: SUPPLEMENT with FOLIC ACID. This will already be supplied by prenatal vit. Everything else is best supplied by a diet of various veges, fruits, whole grains, nuts, salads, dairy, etc. Experimentation with blindly taking a few supplements may be harmful rather than useful. There are thousands of nutrients in foods which cannot be supplied by pills. Don't be snookered by claims of greedy sales pitch
