Is one type of calcium supplement better than the other? Why it taking vitamin D with calcium recommended? What about magnesium?

Calcium: Milk is the best idea - 2% or lower - doesn't matter. There is some vitamin D available over the counter at low cost. Take 100 or 2000 units a day. Don't worry about magnesium unless a doctor has said your value is low.
