I have been to er, ekg was normal, blood work was good. no signs of damage to heart or blood clots. i still am having waves of chest heaviness, burning, and more recently having a hard time catching my breath after a flight of stairs. what is this??

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. This forum would not be adequate to address the issue. If you are overweight, lose weight.

After 10 years: in an ED this scenario, played out 2-5 times with a work up in the ED then discharge ultimately results in adission for cardiac catheterization. You need to see an interventional cardiologist.

Chest discomfort: Unfortunately your test results do not rule out coronary artery problems, only that no obvious heart damage occurred. If you're still having symptoms, further testing like treadmill stress test,and if negative, chest xray pulmonary function tests are advisable. Your symptoms may be caused by anxiety or esophageal disorders. For peace of mind and proper evaluation see an internist or cardiologist
