A 22-year-old male asked:

22/m/ high cholesterol. went to the er for racing heart beat and some shortness of breath. after ekg, blood work, and chest x ray i was told anxiety. ekg result says non specific t wave abnormality. borderline ecg. why wasnt i told about this? help?

Glad that you did not suffer cardiac problems. The EKG is not consistent with arrhythmia or myocardial infarction. Your cholesterol should be treated, and anxiety can respond to cognitive-behavioral therapy. Get this all pulled together and you should do well.

It is not feasible to provide an opinion without additional history, physical examination may be some tests. It would be prudent to see your doctor to see if you may be depressed. Depression is treatable. Counter-intuitive as it may seem, exercise may help. Start with low intensity exercise such as walking and gradually increase the intensity as tolerated. Drink more water.
