Eat smaller amounts.: One can make meals out of veggies. Some veggies can be raw, others can be cooked... lots of variety! Grains are usually counted as veggies, so rice, corn, etc..., are allowed. Beans have protein (fruits don't really have protein). If one stretches the definition of veggies, she can even include the "fruit veggies" such as tomatoes and cucumbers (things that have seeds are officially fruits).

Agree w Kwok: One veggie than has a higher glycemic index However is corn so will add more weight.Carbs are what adds weight not good fats and proteins. The website uk.atkins,com helps to see higher index fruits veggies etc
