A member asked:

Had a small pink papule on my back. derm looked at it with dermascopy and said it looked like a normal inflamed mole. biopsy came back as a lichen planus keratosis. does this make sense even though dermascope said it was a mole?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: histological bx is the major determining factor. question is...if dermoscopy revealed a benign lesion, it's curious that it was even biopsied and not just followed up on subsequent visits?
