A member asked:

Is advair long-term bad? i'm on the 250 but might need the 500. my allergic asthma has been acting up

A doctor has provided 1 answer

All relative: In days gone by patients had to take daily steroid pills that exposed all their systems to side effects to achieve the type of control you can get with Advair. Since the meds go to & are metabolized directly in lung tissue (where needed) the exposure to the rest of your body is lessened so long term side effects are minimized. A bigger drag would be instability with flare ups.
