Actually beta: blockers may aggravate as well as reduce PAC's PVC's as "escape" phenomena with very low heart rates....They reduce PVC's/APC's in faster heart rates. They also have a "calming effect" on anxiety surrounding these "palpitations" Hope this is helpful Dr Z
