Atenolol: the drug is a good starting point if treatment is truly needed, The main reason for treating for most people is for the 'bother' of the palpitation. If they need treatment for this then the endpoint is you feel good enough. Different doses work for different folks and no drug is 100% effective. Often decreasing the symptoms is enough.
