The most reliable way is by getting an ECG in a single recoding or with continuous ECG monitoring (Holter) to ensure that that the heart rhythm is recorded for an adequate length of time. Also remember that premature beats may occur in an otherwise healthy heart. Documentation will go a long way to reassure you or to undertake further testing IF INDICATED.
