Hypertryglyceridaemi: It is not uncommon to have isolated elevated triglycerides. Reducing your meat intake and staying away from fatty foods should help. Good Luck

Not particularly: The pattern of your lipid profile is heavily influenced by both your diet and genetics. You may fall into the 5%+ of the population with a true disorder in triglyceride processing that makes you more at risk for related problems. Sorting out the genetic influence might be an interesting pursuit, but mostly to reinforce your need to make some changes.

First of all: be sure that you have FASTED for at leased 12 hours prior to the sample being obtained. Secondly there are new drugs available to deal with some forms of hypertriglyceridemia... Hope this is helpful! Dr Z

High triglycerides: Triglyceride elevation is more affected by intake of carbohydrates and alcoholic beverages. For severe elevation following a diabetic type diet and abstinence from alcohol would be effective. Taking omega 3 fish oils should also help. A registered dietitian can advise you best as well as determine your ideal weight and daily calorie intake.

Missing information: What is the level of trigs? LDL? Your gender? Meds? Alcohol? Diabetes? Weight? We usually do not pay much attention anymore to triglycerides unless extremely high. This is now of interest as a marker for other things such as menopause, diabetes, pancreatitis, starvation, obesity, alcohol abuse, genetic factors, etc. It is seldom treated per se.

See below See below: Daily exercise and weight reduction helps lower triglycerides. Consume food high in fiber like vegetables or oatmeal. If all else fails, you may need prescription medicine. It is not abnormal to have high triglycerides -- about one third of the US population has high triglycerides levels.
