Difficult to explain: See a doctor for baseline cardiac tests & exam. Skipped beats may be benign.I can not explain how you feel palpitations when heart rate is 50s

Yes: Shift work sleep disorder is a type of circadian rhythm disorder. It is typically associated with difficulty getting to sleep when you need to and feeling sleepy when you need to be awake. This is because sleep/wake circadian rhythms have a role in regulating the neural systems in our brains that promote sleep and wake.

No: A pulled muscle or perhaps costochondritis can not cause you to have a heart attack. But if you have underlying heart disease, i suggest you have an evaluation from a cardiologist and perhaps have a stress test.
A 36-year-old member asked:

Can a collapsed lung lead to a heart attack in someone with a family history of heart problems?

Dr. Robert Kwok
Pediatrics 33 years experience
Yes: A "large" collapsed lung, especially one where the leaked air is pushing on the lung and heart (tension pneumothorax), is an emergency regardless of any family history of heart problems. A heart attack occurs when heart muscle can't get enough oxygen, such as when blood flow to the heart is blocked or when the blood oxygen is way too low. A big pneumothorax can block both blood flow and air flow.
