Is it common practice for an oral surgeon to extract 7 teeth without any anesthesia and not advice patient before hand?

Not common at all: But without knowing all the facts about the extracted teeth and the health of the patient, it is not prudent to judge the oral surgeon. You should be really addressing your concerns with him/her.

Not common: Is this something that happened to you or a story that someone told you? I cannot fathom any reason for this other than a very unusual set of medical circumstances. If you were the patient, discuss this with the surgeon of record before proceeding onward.
