Can a lacerated flexor tendon in the pinky finger be surgically repaired while the patient is awake (local anesthesia only or local with relaxing medication for the patient)?

It can be done under local anesthesia, but will depend on the patient. Children, teens (and some adults) will typically not sit still for this type of procedure. Also, anyone with a weak stomach/ fainting history may have problems as well since there is still the sensation of pulling.
