See below: If there is no effect on hearing in the affected ear, there is no discharge from the ear, there is no pain and there are only a few grains of sand, you may leave it alone, it will come out on its own. Flush with saline: probably best to go to ER, but if you point the affected ear down to the ground and gently flush with saline, should do the trick. Suggest you let a skilled emergency doctor or nurse perform this task
