I don't wear earrings but the back or my ear half way down my ear to my ear lobes have a rash that comes & goes. what could be causing this?

Hard to say: Could be seborrheic dermatitis, or reaction to a food or medication, especially if taken intermittently, like ibuprofen for headache or something not taken every day.
