Not completely: Scar tissue by its very nature is permanent but its appearance and extent can be minimized during the 1st year by keeping the wound site soft using Vaseline or Aquaphor and minimizing sun exposure. After a year if cosmetically problematic see a plastic surgeon. I originally said use antibiotic ointment which should be used during the first 10 days on new wounds but I defer to Dr. Dohan below.

See Dr: Best to see dermatologist or cosmetic surgeon. Avoid bacitracin and neosporin. These are not effective against infections but are common sensitizers. Vaseline or Aquaphor is preferred. Vitamin E is not useful.
