Ortho Evan needed : An orthoapedic examination will help uncover why your knee is painful and swollen. The most common reason is a posterior horn Meniscal tear with secondary formation of a Baker’s cyst. When the knee makes fluid do to injury or arthritis, the fluid often tracks to the back of the knee where the capsule is softer and more pliant allowing the formation of the cyst. I recommend Radiographs & exam.
