Knee pain: A swelling in back of your knee would most likely be a Baker's cyst. The best way to explore this is by getting an ultrasound of the leg.

Knee issues..: Lipomas may grow bigger and cause pain and difficulty with your joint movement in this case the knee and this pain could be also referred to your hip. Since I don't know what tests or exams were done to determine this was a lipoma another thought would be a Baker's cyst which is very common. You may take anti inflammatory meds for now but probably you would need to see an Orthopedist surgeon.
