Cellulitis?: If the skin is red and sore to touch, and there is no rash on the other ankle or elsewhere on the body, I would worry you have cellulitis, a skin infection. You may need an antibiotic prescription. See a doctor soon; do it immediately if the redness is rapidly spreding, if any red streaks up the leg, or if you have fever. Good luck!
