Had blood drawn today. nurse took out needle and pressed gauze for 3 seconds. then bandaid over gauze. came home and saw a 5 cent size blood spot on gauze. i know i clot because i just had a cut that clotted almost instantly.why did this happen?

Not abnormal: The venipuncture site should have been pressed for about a minute. However, slight leakage of blood from the site of the puncture is not abnormal. Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex, if you have sex.
