See Rheumatology: The ANA (Antinuclear Antibody) Test is used as a screening for autoimmune disease and in particular for Systemic Lupus Erythematosis (SLE). It can be positive in a normal individual and negative in a sick individual. One of it's main utilities is ruling out Lupus. If the ANA is negative, then it is unlikely that you have Lupus but it is still possible. I recommend you see Rheum for workup.

Rheumatologist: Agree with Dr. Burress. Vague symptoms can be due to an auto-immune process. Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex, if you have sex.
