Wait: No broken bone heals in 3 weeks. Bones will be 75% healed in 6-8 weeks, unless something is slowing healing. I'm glad to hear it was casted. Digital fractures are often undertreated. Rest the foot, limit activity to comfort and it should be fairly solid in another month or so.

Fracture: Fractures have a hard time healing for several reasons. Movement or weight bearing is the most common. Your general health and bone health is very important. The positionof the fracture also plays a roll. Three weeks is not a long time to stillhave pain. Check with your doctor.

It takes about 8 weeks in my experience as no one completely can or does rest his foot, even in casts or ankle boots. Weight bearing causes motion at the fracture site so usually goes into delayed union. 3 weeks might be enough time in very very young babies!!!

Bone stimulator would be a great help to stimulate the bone to heal.

A bone stimulator would be a great help to enhance bone healing.
