I went to the doc because my left ankle was extremely swollen. swelling moved into my left calve. 3 months later and still swollen calve. light pain as well. doc gave me pills to urinate. helped to suppress swelling, but swollen when stopped.

From your: description it sounds like you have a vascular problem in that leg. Ask for a referral to a vascular surgeon for evaluation.

Varies: Fluid retention can cause swelling in both ankles and can potentially respond to using a water pill. Swelling in one extremity usually suggests something abnormal from the extremity itself. Possible causes can include vascular, inflammatory, arthritic, or traumatic causes. Discuss with your doctor.
