A member asked:

Can marginal placenta previa cause placental abruption? what are the statistics on marginal previa moving after 20 weeks?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Cervix and placenta: Will move apart as a balloon expands, (uterus), points on the balloon move apart, this will likely occur as the uterus grows, if no bleeding, little risk of harm. Ask your doctor to be sure. Previa can create a type of partial abruption, along the edge of the attachment.
