Persistent BV...: ...is common in many women. Ask your doctor about periodic treatment (e.g. metronidole orally or MetroGel once a week, or vaginal boric acid). Always use condoms; unprotected sex promotes BV. If you have a wart-causing HPV infection, your partner could catch it. BV itself doesn't cause or transmit warts or other STD. Get vaccinated to prevent the 9 most troublesome types of HPV.
