A few things: Of course always difficult to try to diagnose bumps on internet without a photo. But some ideas are: a sebaceous cyst (like a blocked pore/gland), a Bartholin's cyst (again blocked gland). Lymph node, as you suggested. Skin tag. Herpes vesicles wouldn't likely last for a year and blood test or viral culture would be positive. Most likely it's a sebaceous cyst. A doctor's exam would answer.

See an OB/GYN: Get this examined so that you will know what it is. It is obviously concerning you enough so that an exam would be appropriate. Suspect it is nothing serious. Good luck.
