End vertebrae: A Cobb angle is measured by taking a line parallel to the end vertebrae of a scoliosis curve and a second line parallel to the vertebrae on the other end, and then measuring the angle between those two line. If the spine is perfectly straight, the cob angle would be zero. A Cobb angle of 12 degrees represents a very mild curve.
