Sleep Obsession: Because perhaps you have lost the natural tendency to sleep. Perhaps you are drinking (which will never give you restful deep sleep) or you have used too many sleeping pills. If the latter is true you can get help but it will need some humility and asking your doctor for help or asking at the local hospital detox unit to help you begin the withdrawal process and then into a drug rehab program.

Many reasons: Sleep issues have many reasons and can be divided in to two; short term and long term. Short term or recent change in sleep patters; is due to stress, worries, sad or depressed mood, relationship issues and can be remedied if you take care of the stress. Short meds help too. Long term sleep issues; poor sleep patterns are major cause or untreated depression or anxiety. Sleep hygiene, treat cause.
