A member asked:

I figured out i have a large simple cyst, 172 cubic cm, and torsion, but np didn't say anything about torsion. don't you need emergency surgery for it?

Ultrasound: Torsion is only diagnosed by an ultrasound which can demonstrate blood flow (or lack thereof) to a testicle or ovary. It can also be diagnosed during surgery. Cysts can increase your risk for torsion, but it's still not very common. Torsion is excruciatingly painful and is a surgical emergency. Please discuss your concern with your NP.
