Maybe: We usually consider cysts to be large if they are greater than 8 cm but that does vary some from institution to institution ( some set the line at 6 cm). Simple cysts are almost always benign and can be observed unless they are symptomatic. If they are enlarging, however, surgery may become necessary. Hope that helps.
