Not sure: c diff not a contraindication for sigmoidoscopy. Since he is doing the test electively to assess your diverticulitis he wants you in best shape and to have his view uncomplicated by the mucus pseudomembranes of c diff

Diverticulitis: First of all you do not want a. Colonoscopy when the colon is inflamed or irritated. Same with Gavin c diff so you must wait for safety concerns. Now you are only 27 years old very young for diverticulitis. Make sure you eat healthy and exercise regularly

Abdominal x-ray showed colon thickening. Colonoscopy came back fine. No diverticulitis, etc. Could the X-ray have been wrong or what could have been seen on x-ray that colonoscopy missed? This was x-ray and not a CT. GI did not appear concerned?
