Would a colonoscopy note moderate diverticulosis in the sigmoid colon?and could this diverticular be causing obscure gi bleeding?

Yes x 2: Yes and yes. Obscure GI bleed could also be caused by a large hiatal hernia (diagnosed with upper GI contrast study) or a small bowel tumor (diagnosed on ct scan).

Yes & no: A colonoscopy could certainly detect moderate diverticulosis in the sigmoid colon however diverticulosis almost never a cause of obscure GI bleeding. It is usually overt & very obvious especially when coming from the sigmoid colon.
