Very lower left abdominal pain. augmentin for 5 of 10 days not helping. is this diverticulitis or appendix? pain is starting to go around to the back now. mostly liquid diet but when i have soup pain starts in about 2 hours?

Likely diverticuliti: Due to your age and pain in lower left abdomen, not appendicitis, but diverticulitis. Consider a urinary tract infection. I would continue your full treatment with Augmentin, increase liquids, use something like acetaminophen for pain. I would make an appointment with PCP for follow up.

Diverticulitis: Left lower abdominal pain and tenderness are characteristic of acute diverticulitis of the descending colon. Augmentin is an appropriate antibiotic. I'm concerned about the radiation of pain around the back. You don't mention fever or chills, but perforation & abscess formation are possible complications. I think you should notify your MD or go to the emergency room for prompt evaluation &testing
