Since october i've started taking a multivitamin and cut out a bad habit of eating late. i also work a job where i'm on my feet and moving around for multiple hours each day. since these changes i've lost 12 pounds. does this seem normal?

Quite possibly: Don't know if you were normal weight, overweight, obese or underweight before hand. If you get enough physical activity (steps in) and avoid eating right before bed (which might mean cutting out junk food late) - this could well be possible.
