Pressure.: IT goes without saying, standing, especially for long durations or for lengths that you are not accustomed to, will be hard on the feet. Numbness in the third toe signifies the that activity is causing an irritation of a sensory nerve supplying the toe. This irritation may proceed to pain if steps are not made to accommodate it. Shoes must allow the foot to splay and not compress the forefoot.
