NEAT: Walk every day. What you can tolerate. Perhaps start with half an hour a day and increase slowly after 6pm don't eat carbs. Stick with good source of proteins and vegetables. You don't need to go to the gym, but should move to increase your metabolism. Check out "neat" non-exercise activity thermogenesis.
